LUXURIOUS PUMPING AT THE BOOTCAMP CLUB

Some define luxurious working out as training with a personal trainer. I like to define that differently. My definition of luxurious working out is bootcamp at the park, with a small group of motivated people and – ejo – Captain Jack (or Jacqueline) telling you to work it out. Let me rephrase: to move that ass!

The Bootcamp Club is the heavenly place where you can do this and where I do this. Their methodology is based on the routine of the U.S. Army. The routine is a cardiovascular and muscle strengthening full body work out that fits all fitness levels, men and woman. At The Bootcampclub they do it all: Running, fitness exercises and interval training. It's all about agility, endurance, strength and explosiveness. A one hour work out, all outdoors, back to fresco, back to basics.

Though it's still a bit chilly outside, we want to – some have to – get tight because our beloved summer is coming in. Besides getting in shape and caressing your ego you also get more energy, which is a thing I love. So we have to pump it, walk it, shake it (like a polaroid), squat it, jump it, bounce it, twist it & dip it, squeeze it, work it and drop it (like it's hot). Like really!

Reading this some of you may think I got a sunburn. Well I don't, because the sun isn't shining that intense yet. I just honestly love to do it. Always with a bit of humor, elan, panache and of course in style. And now work it!

A LABEL TO WATCH: ANDREA POMPILIO

Swaggy casual Italian chicness. That's what comes to my mind when I think of the Fall/Winter 2012 collection of menswear designer Andrea Pompilio. This gent is definitely one to watch! I am really crazy about Andrea Pompilio's Fall/Winter 2012 collection. It breaths style and luxury, but still got swag with a bit of humor. The perfect clash in my opinion.

Every style-conscious guy needs to have this label on his radar: A by Andrea Pompilio. Andrea Pompilio is definitely one of my favourites for 2012's Fall/Winter. I simply adore his collection. Worked for Allesandro dell'Acqua, Prada, Calvin Klein and Yves Saint Laurent, the man definitely knows what he is doing with his own label. The rich fabrics, my palette of colours, the scarves, the bags, the prints, the loose cut, yet Italian tailoring: it all has a nice twist I love.

Pompilio's look is unusual, but it doesn't shock you. That's how I like to dress and that's why I'm probably having such a crush on his label. See here my favourites chosen out of Andrea Pompilio's Fall/Winter 2012 show presented in Florence, Italy.

And some more snaps.

When the Italian Vogue asked Pompilio to define his style in three words, his answer was “in-for-mal”. And that is something you can see. The collection was filled with uplifting elements. The fabrics were luxurious and cut masterfully creating modern silhouettes. Andrea shows us a sense of humor in clothing, but it still looks amazingly stylish. I can sense some casual citywear tweaked to chicness. And then there were the shoes: outspoken, but a real must-have. Damn, they are cool!

Pompilio is ambitious and he dares to take risks. His goal is to redefine modern menswear and I have to say that he is killing it. You make me want to have it all Pompilio. Make me more and more. If you got it, flaunt it!

YELLOW, IT'S BANANAS

Some say it's the colour of summer, others say it's the colour symbolizing jealousy. Both are true. For me yellow really stands for summer. As regards jealousy, people probably envy you because you are looking so damn fresh wearing that popping yellow.

I don't know what it is, but I'm into to yellow at the moment. When I look at the pictures I liked on Instagram and pinned or repinned on Pinterest, it is all about yellow; a stripe, a little detail or all over, there's yellow in it. I am probably in love with this colour because I can't wait for the summer. Spring already seduced me with some warmth, sun, terraces and beach, so that should be it.

Yellow is a big trend in woman's fashion. Not only on the runway, but maybe even more in streetstyle.

I'm so glad, according to the runway shows, men are finally allowed to put some colour in their closet. Men could easily wear some yellow. It is the same as wearing a bow-tie: dare to stand out. In my opinion yellow also embodies confidence. Wearing it you are not afraid to be cool. Lack what other people think and wear that yellow (bottle, sippin').

I know yellow is too outspoken for some men, but try something new. Blend the yellowness in. Like these men did.

The plight of the everyday rustic bores sometimes. Doesn't it? Out of my closet this is my favourite yellow piece.

Put yourself in that limelight. Wearing colour in a bland colourless city simply sparkles my day. It's an explosion of colour wearing yellow out on the streets. Colourfull garments make us smile. And don't we love to smile? It's bananas. B-A-N-A-N-A-S!

THE COLLECTOR OPENS OFFLINE

Online shop The Collector opened its offline doors on Friday the 30st of March. Located in an old photostudio, feeling lofty and slightly industrial, yet stylish and individual, it feels like you walked into a high street boutique in New York.

Not only the shop's design has its individual style, also the concept store's clothing and accessories got their own stamp. Like owner Suzette van Dam says herself: 'We don't follow trends because they're cool, but because we like them'. That's something you can see. The Collector sells brands that are not particulary well known, but they are all high quality and very stylish. Buying clothing like this gives The Collector an eclectic look, which I like a lot. The newly opened store as well as the clothing are really refreshing and an addition to what Amsterdam already has to offer.

At the opening the tunes were dancy. I'm a foody, so what needs a shout out are the event's bites. They were heavenly; not only for the mouth, but also for the eye. True culinary jewels from Food Jazz & DJs. I loved it! It was the perfect match with the store's atmosphere. Sipping a drink, biting a bite and doing a little dance at this cool new store got me fresh for the weekend.

Tucked away at the Eerste v/d Helststraat in Amsterdam we got a new international concept store. Not only online, but now offline as well. Definitely one to remember! Check it out soon.

On Friday the 6th of April The Collector will open its doors for everybody.
